Two of tennis' bright youngish things, Grigor Dimitrov and Sam Querrey, have already fallen victim to Hewitt.
Next in his sights is the world number eight Juan Martin del Potro, the rangy Argentine who defeated Great Britain's Dan Evans in the last round.
Del Potro has the serve and whip-crack forehand to get his opponent running, but despite 32 years on the clock, Hewitt's wheels are still spinning smoothly.
It should be a cracker. And it is up next on court.
