A former BBC radio presenter has appeared in court accused of sexual offences against children.
Michael Souter, 59, of Loddon, Norfolk, is charged with 18 offences against boys, as well as a charge each against a man and a woman.
The charges, including serious sexual offences and indecent assault, relate to six boys, among them under-14s.
The former BBC Radio Norfolk presenter was granted conditional bail by magistrates in Norwich.
Mr Souter was ordered to appear before Norwich Crown Court on 14 December.
'Stressful experience'His bail conditions forbid him from any contact with under-16s without the presence of an adult and from contacting any witnesses.
His passport, previously surrendered under bail conditions, was given back to him and no restrictions were placed on foreign travel.
The charges relate to alleged offences between 1979 and 1999.
They relate to two boys aged under 14, four under 16, and a male and a female, both over 16.
Mr Souter worked for BBC Radio Norfolk from its launch in 1980 until the 1990s.
Outside the court, Mr Souter said: "I am well aware this case is a stressful experience for almost everybody concerned, not just me.
"Irrespective of innocence or guilt, people have judged me before one word has been given in evidence in a court of law.
"Many people wonder how much coverage would have been given, both in the UK and around the world, if the letters 'BBC' had not formed part of my CV.
"The support of my friends and family, during what has been an extremely difficult period, has been overwhelming and humbling and I cannot thank them enough for their support."
